Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ('AUP') sets out the standards expected of all users of the Northfield Spaces cloud software platform. It exists to protect the integrity, security and reputation of the Service, the data of all customers, and the wider internet community. It forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to every individual or entity that accesses the Service.

2. Lawful use

You must use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and third-party rights, including data-protection law, intellectual-property law, consumer-protection law and export-control regimes.

3. Prohibited content

You must not upload, store, process, transmit or distribute through the Service any content that:

• Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, harassing or threatening.
• Infringes any intellectual-property right, privacy right or other right of any third party.
• Contains malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware or other malicious code.
• Contains special-category personal data (such as health, biometric or criminal-record data) unless you have a lawful basis to process it and have notified me in writing.
• Includes payment-card numbers, full bank-account credentials or other regulated financial data — Northfield Spaces is not certified to host such data.

4. Prohibited activities

You must not, and must not allow any user to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, related systems or other customers' accounts.
• Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service except as part of a coordinated disclosure process approved by me in writing.
• Interfere with, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its supporting infrastructure.
• Use the Service to send spam, phishing messages or other unsolicited communications.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the Service.
• Use the Service to build, train or improve a competing product or service.
• Resell, sublicense, rent or otherwise commercially exploit access to the Service without my prior written consent.

5. Fair use of resources

Plans include reasonable allowances for storage, API usage and concurrent activity. 'Reasonable' is judged against typical usage patterns for the plan in question. Where usage is materially abnormal — for example automated bulk operations that degrade performance for other customers — I may contact you to discuss a higher-tier plan or to apply technical limits.

6. Security responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential, for revoking access promptly when team members leave, for using strong, unique passwords, for enabling available authentication safeguards, and for promptly reporting any suspected compromise of your account.

7. Reporting violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP — by yourself, your collaborators or any third party — please report it immediately to hello@northfieldspaces.co.uk. I take reports seriously and investigate promptly.

8. Enforcement

Where I reasonably believe this AUP has been breached, I may, without prior notice if circumstances require it: investigate, including by reviewing logs and metadata; suspend or restrict access to all or part of the Service; remove or quarantine offending content; terminate the subscription under the Terms of Service; and report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.

9. Updates

I may update this AUP to reflect changes in operational practice, technology or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
